Angaben aus dem Katalog der arabischen Papyri des Pennsylvania University Museums (Philaldelphia) von Giorgio Levi Della Vida (1886-1967), Arabic Papyri in the University Museum in Philadelphia (Pennsylvania), Rom 1981, Accademia Nazionale dei Lincei, S. 159 (Eintrag Nr. 127): "Inv. E. 16264. A. 3rd century A.H./9th century A. D. Thin parchment, originally white, at present dingy brown. 13.5 x 25.2 cm. Upper part of a sheet written on both faces. The width is fullypreserved. The upper margin and the lower side are much damaged. Four lines of writing appear on the recto and six on the verso, the last three entirely faded out. From the Ellen W. Harrison Collection. Recto: Kor. 40,85 [ʾ]īmānuhum to the end of the sūra 41 (basmala) [sic]. Verso: 41,7 (6) - ……? [sic] The script is heavy and short. The lower ends of the alifs are bent towards the right. The loop of finak and isolated nūn is more rounded than in nos. 121 and 122. Diacritical signs are expressed by strokes, points by red dots. The end of sūra 40 is marked by seven short strokes, parallel and slanting. Sūras 40 and 41 are separated by a decorative band, with a rather modest ornamentation consisting of two intertwined rows of red and brown dots, forming a series of contiguous squares standing on their angles. In the space between the end of sūra 40 and the band, the number of the verses in sūra 41 is written in smaller „Kūfic“ characters with red ink. Only the last two words are discernible: they read … [ḫā]misūna wa-ṯalaṯ „… fifty-three“, which agrees with the Meccan and the Medinese numbering (see A. Spitaler, Die Verszählung des Koran, p. 56) as against 54 of the Cairo edition."
