Angaben aus dem Katalog der arabischen Papyri des Pennsylvania
University Museums (Philaldelphia) von Giorgio Levi Della Vida (1886-1967), Arabic Papyri in the University Museum in Philadelphia (Pennsylvania), Rom 1981, Accademia Nazionale dei Lincei, S. 164-165 (Eintrag Nr. 138): "(Plate XX) Inv. E. 16265. 5th century A. H./11th century A. D. Cream colored, thin parchment 9.7 x 11.9 cm. Written on both faces in black ink. Seven lines, and traces of an eighth line are extant. Upper half from a sheet, the original height of which was ca. 19 cm. The full width has been preserved, and the upper, outer and inner margins, measuring 4.3,2 and 3 cm, are intact. From the Ellen W. Harrison Collection. Recto: Kor. 27,44 يختصصون - انه. Verso: 27,48 (49) مكرا (51) 50 - المدينة (second). Late 'Kūfic', closely similar to no. 45 of Moritz's Arabic Paleography. Diacritical dots are black, vowel marks are expressed by red dots, shadda is blue and hamza yellow. Verses are divided by gold seven-petaled rosettes; a verse divider is found after verse 44, where only the Cairo edition has a continuous verse, as against all other numerations (see A. Spitaler, Die Verszählung des Koran, p. 49). A larger, nine-petaled rosette is found after verse 45, and a pear-shaped divider after verse 44, which is 45 according to the Baṣra and Damascus numbering. On the verso, the end of verse 49, which is 50 according to the Baṣra and Damascus numbering, is followed by a large violet circle surrounded by golden palmettes and bearing in its middle the letter nūn (last letter of خمسون 'fifty') in gold: the same device is repeated in larger size on the outer margin (the colors have faded off), where the word خمسون is written in extenso. Another fragmentary sheet from the same copy is extant in the following number [= Inv. E 16264 M]."
